I like software with awkward edge cases and a reason to exist.
I usually get involved before everything is decided. I ask annoying questions, sketch the flow, write the code, and keep an eye on it after release.
I've learned that the tiny details and the boring operational work are often the same job.
I'm happiest when the problem is still a little unclear.

Good names make screens easier to use and codebases easier to change.
